Localisation : Singapour

Description :

Our research project investigates coastal flooding hazard caused by typhoon and its associated extreme weather (e.g. heavy rainfall) in Southeast Asia. We are inviting two (2) competent researchers to join the project as Research Fellows (RF).

The first RF should have a strong background in coastal engineering or related research areas. The successful candidate will be expected to use and develop models to simulate coastal hydrodynamic process (wind forcing, storm surge, wave, and inundation). We prefer candidates with multiple-year experience in using and developing hydrodynamic model and coupled ocean-atmosphere model.

Basic Requirements:

  • Ph.D degree in Atmospheric Science, Hydrological Science, Coastal Engineering or related research areas
  • Good time management,
  • communication skills and team work spirit
  • Strong coding capacity with the experience of using common programming languages such as FORTRAN, MATLAB, PYTHON, etc.

The project is a part of the collaborative program between Tsinghua University and National University of Singapore. The PI is Professor Philip L-F. Liu at NUS.

Interested applicants can sent his/her CV and representative publication(s) to
